Our story

Where It All Began

Breaking Barriers for Underserved Youth in Our Communities

Niño de la Caridad Foundation was founded by Dr. Denise, a Pediatric Critical Care Physician who dedicated her life to serving families in the Bronx. Through her work, she saw firsthand the barriers facing Hispanic and Latinx youth—limited access to education, resources, and safe spaces to grow.

From Small Initiative
to Lifeline
for Youth

Determined to do more, Dr. Denise created Niño de la Caridad as a place where young people could feel supported, inspired, and capable of achieving more. What began as a small community initiative has grown into a thriving foundation that provides mentorship, academic support, and leadership opportunities for Bronx youth.

Niño de la Caridad (NDLC) exists to break the cycle of poverty by expanding access to opportunity for young people in underserved communities. Through a holistic approach that addresses education, mentorship, behavioral health, and leadership development, we equip young people and their families with the tools to build lasting, generational change.
