Leaders of the Future (LOTF)

Preparing students for leadership and a lifetime of success!

Leaders of the Future (LOTF)

Leaders of the Future (LOTF) is the signature program of Niño de la Caridad Foundation (NDLC). It supports Bronx high school juniors and seniors in developing essential life, leadership, and professional skills through mentorship, career exploration, community engagement, and cultural immersion.

Program Components

Leaders of the Future combines workshops, mentorship, and experiential learning across six core areas: College & Career Readiness

Students receive individualized support in college and scholarship applications, essay writing, FAFSA preparation, and interview skills. They also visit college campuses and participate in professional networking activities.

Mentorship & Personal Growth
Each student is matched with mentors who provide guidance, accountability, and encouragement throughout the program. Mentorship sessions focus on self-confidence, goal-setting, and leadership in action.

STEM & Innovation
Hands-on activities in robotics and science help students explore innovation and problem-solving while connecting real-world applications to academic concepts.

Community Engagement
Students engage in volunteer projects and civic initiatives that promote teamwork and empathy. They also organize community events, reinforcing NDLC’s mission of service and connection.

Health & Wellness
Workshops in nutrition, physical activity, and emotional well-being encourage healthy lifestyles and holistic growth.

Cultural & Educational Immersion (DR/NASA Experience)
A highlight of the program, this unique immersion experience offers participants the chance to travel abroad and participate in science and leadership projects in collaboration with NASA and partner organizations.

Program Impact
  • Since its creation, LOTF has: Reached over 300 Bronx students through leadership and college-readiness training.
  • Supported over $2 million in scholarships for participating students.
  • Maintained a 95% college enrollment rate among graduates.
  • Connected students with leading institutions and mentors across fields.

Each participant leaves with a stronger sense of identity, purpose, and belonging — equipped to lead both in their communities and beyond.

“This program changed how I see myself — I learned that my voice matters.”
